The People

The Vive La Vallette team has a strong sense of common purpose and shared values. This is complemented by the individual experience of each member ranging from design and constructions skills, accounting, retail, catering, sports, the arts and the third sector.

Since we assembled in 2018 an emphasis has been placed on working collaboratively. The team has developed as skills gaps have been identified. Importantly we like to have fun along the way and celebrate milestones as they’re achieved.

  • David Warr

La Vallette offers an opportunity to be part of the broader Eastern seaboard enhancement programme and completed successfully can be an excellent example of public/private partnership and an exemplar for projects elsewhere on the Island. It is an opportunity to contribute to an initiative that benefits the whole Community and is accessible, inclusive and affordable. My role will be to secure the required funding to help fulfil the site’s potential.

  • David De La Mare

I run a chartered architectural practice and am passionate about the social benefits of progressive and considered architecture. My role would be design co-ordination, filtering the ideas from the wider group of collaborators and users and to design a building that is respectful of the special interest of its surroundings but progressive and ambitious that maximises the incredible location and aspect.

  • Helen Bonner-Morgan

As the Community Lead for Vive La Vallette, I’m very focused on ensuring that the people of Guernsey remain central to our vision. I want to help this destination become a go-to place where everyone feels welcomed and valued and their lives are improved. This will happen via the core activity of swimming but also through arts workshops, reading groups, sunrise yoga sessions, parties, team building days, group meetings, outdoor learning and so much more! People will be inspired by the heritage, the landscape, the seascape and all the activity happening due to new life being breathed into the site.

  • Steve Sharman

We want to engage individuals, families and all stakeholders on a journey both actual and metaphorical that links the social to the physical, the physical to the artistic and the artistic to the mental. It is about appealing to the senses with an inclusive offer. My role will be to project manage through the phases of concept design, creating partnerships, communication and ultimately delivery.

  • Linda Boucher-Harris

As someone who lives in the immediate vicinity of Havelet and La Vallette I understand how this magical place could become a hub and much loved place for locals and tourists alike. My role will be to collaborate with the team contributing with creative as well as practical ideas.

  • Andy Hall

There is a real opportunity to improve La Vallette without spoiling the charm. My role would be to use my construction experience to project manage all aspects of the build, from concept and feasibility, through to completion.

  • Wendy Ensink

I have over thirty years of catering and retail experience and the thought of a fresh approach to this fabulous space in such a beautiful area is so exciting. I swim in the pools all year round and appreciate the possibilities that could be realised to restore La Vallette as a part of life within Guernsey’s heritage.

  • Phil Taylor

Having learnt to swim at the children’s pool while at St Andrew’s Primary School, I have always loved the La Vallette pools and still swim there all year round.
With many years of experience in catering and managing local businesses, I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the revitalising of La Vallette as a place where all islanders can feel rejuvenated by the natural beauty of the area.

  • Daniel Green

As the current catering partner at Specsavers Contacts café and the Chef director of Daniel Green Catering Ltd, I am used to providing high quality food to a broad range of people.

I’ve had nearly 30 years’ experience in the catering business and my role in this project is to help, advise and support the food offering at the new facilities at La Vallette.
